Wizard Island, Crater Lake at the end of May. Spring was well underway on the lower altitudes but winter still had a pretty good hold up here.
The Hoh River again, and if you look closely, some of the first stars coming out.
The Stonehenge Memorial near Maryhill, Washington, on the banks of the Columbia River.
About-face from the Stonehenge Memorial, you get this view. Looking at Mt Hood in Oregon from the Washington side of the Columbia River.
Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River valley
We tried and failed about six times to cross the Cascade Range via back roads but we couldn't find any that were open for the season yet above around 3000 ft.
Debating whether the rental would be covered under stupidity insurance
Andy, Thad & me hogging the view of Crater Lake
California rte 101, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Yes, they are that big.
California coastline
Camping in the redwoods. Small ones. This land on which this campground now exists was once completely logged off, so what you see is all at least second growth.
Oregon Dunes
Quinault Lake, Washington
Washington Coastline, Olympic Peninsula
More Washington coastline, the other direction
The Hoh River in Olympic National Park. Our campsite was about 70 ft to the right.
Yosemite, the same photo that every other Park tourist on the face of the Earth has in their collection. Maybe a little more mist, maybe a bit fewer clouds, but the same view.
So yeah... El Capitan... Bridalveil Falls... Half Dome half shrouded in cloud in the distance. Disneyland for nature-loving adults.
A Stellar's Jay that kept lingering around our campsite in Yosemite.
Upstream from Vernal Falls in Yosemite
Looking downstream from the top of Vernal Falls in Yosemite, which I have somehow neglected to include a photo of here. Hmmm...
Yosemite Falls at dusk with a car driving through my long exposure.
El Capitan
Now, I'm a blue-and-green guy, so to me all of this noontime sunlight is okay. El Cap & Bridalveil again.
Yosemite Valley from Glacier Point. For reference, the trees at the bottom of the valley are something like 150ft tall, maybe more. Half Dome on the right, of course.
Lassen Volcanic National Park. We almost drove through it on our way from Yosemite to Redwoods, but the road was still closed from the winter.
